It's the second episode of Shocktober 2025, and we're discussing Mike's pick, Demonwarp. The flick is chock full of tits and bigfoots, but surprisingly low on demons and warps. Needless to say, lots of nipple talk in this one, folks.

Lean in, fright fans! It's the sixth annual Shocktober, and we have got a spooktacular slate of films for you this year. Up first, it's Kit's pick, and she's gone for a real horror classic, the downright spine-tingling tale of that quintessential creature of the night, the rata alada himself, The Batman, AKA the only Crow reboot Kit acknowledges.

We finally watch one of Mike's favorite films and tackle the immortal question: Is Vincent Gallo hot?

Mike generously devotes a portion of his triple to a documentary about Kit's favorite band, goth rockers The Cure—wait, what? It's a forgotten 90s movie about two kids becoming friends? And one of them is dying of AIDS? God damn it, Mike.

It's a wonderful night for Oscar! Oscar, Oscar! We recorded this episode at the end of February, so there's a lot of chat about the Oscars, whether Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas are really dating, and if this will really be the last Mission: Impossible movie. Also, we talk about a little Italian film called Umberto D.

 

We’re finally watching the movie that killed Francis Ford Coppola’s dream for the movie business and permanently altered the course of his filmography. While critics and audiences at the time found little to like about this musical (?) romance (?), we don’t see how a film that looks this good could possibly be bad. Right? Right?

Hulk smash…toxic masculinity? We’re joined by “man in the booth” Lee to discuss a movie he has been defending for more than two decades. Ang Lee’s Hulk feels like an artifact from an aborted alternate timeline in which Martin Scorsese might have considered comic-book movies to be cinema. And while its failure kind of put the kibosh on Eric Bana’s career as a leading man, Ang Lee recovered quickly, winning Best Director at the Oscars for his very next film. But is Hulk the nadir of a pretty good track record? Or a secret masterpiece?
