Oh, hello, creeps! It’s that time of fear again: welcome to the return of Shocktober—or, in this case, Rocktober! Mike’s first up with the 1986 heavy-metal horror film, Trick or Treat. What did we all think of this largely forgotten, low-budget spookfest co-starring Ozzy Osborne and Gene Simmons and picked by notorious prankster Mike? The answer may sur-dies boo.

39) Disney Channel Original Movies Pt. III - Halloweentown (1998)

What can be said about a TV movie you saw over 20 years ago and didn't rewatch for this episode because you weren't involved in the recording? Well, not a whole lot, so here's the Google synopsis: "Marnie and her kids get a big shock when they follow grandma home to Halloweentown - and find out they come from a family of witches. The town is the only place where supernatural beings can lead a `normal' life, but trouble is looming, and on her 13th birthday Marnie not only finds she is a witch, but that she and her family are involved in a fight against the evil that is threatening to take over the world."

Kit and Mike ditch Andrew like he never meant anything to them to talk about some movie that I can barely bother to remember the title of so I will just post the synopsis: A younger sister wishes to switch places with her popular older sister and the two bickering siblings awaken to find the wish has come true.

36) Out of the World Pt. III - Nightbeast (1982)

Nightbeast provided J.J. Abrams with his first screen credit. Shockingly, this was not director Don Dohler’s first screen credit; he had previously directed two features, a factoid far scarier than any of the alien action in this, his third film. One of the taglines for Nightbeast was “The Sci-Fi Thriller Made in Baltimore!” That’s the most enticing thing they could put on the poster without lying.

35) Out of the World Pt. II - Invaders from Mars (1953)

On this out-of-this-world episode, we’re talking proto-sci-fi classic Invaders from Mars. This is a film full of contradictions: a B movie by literally the world’s first production designer and de-facto director of Gone with the Wind; wildly original while relying heavily on stock footage; and a Cold War era fable about Americans coming together to defeat a foreign enemy that ends by implying they accomplished nothing. Kind of like this podcast, if you think about it.
